Welcome to the website of Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn, a bilingual school for learners aged 11 to 16. Our aim is one of excellence for all, with every learner given every possible opportunity to achieve to the very highest levels. The intention is to create happy, confident, ambitious, principled and knowledgeable learners who are ready to play their part fully in their lives and work. There will be a transparent vision from staff and learners within a close-knit bilingual community, with a team ethos and a sense of pride and belonging. The vision will prepare learners for a rapidly changing world with an emphasis on respect for others and on the core values of honesty and loyalty. This is ensured by providing learners with the necessary skills of learning independently throughout their lives, and of contributing widely towards society. We appreciate the continued support from parents, as a close relationship between school and home is paramount. A successful school has a caring, happy ethos, based around strong systems of pastoral support for the whole community, be they pupils, staff, governors or parents. There's nothing complicated here – happy, healthy children with a voice in their school are the best learners; therefore, it is important to ensure that the whole school community has the best possible conditions in order to succeed.
